Save the Date! Boundary Waters Presentations Wilderness Journey Clinics We strongly urge all clients and anyone interested to attend one of the following events. We will review routes and all of our gear. We will also show the required/recommended clothing and personal gear lists and fishing gear. Shine (details and 2010 photos below) Saturday, May 14th 11am- 5pm REI Paddlefest Wilderness Journey will be there all day with information Ramsey will
give an hour long BWCA slideshow presentation at 1pm May 7th- Wilderness Journey Boundary Waters clinic information Island Lake recreation center across from Kensington Metro Park in Michigan. We will have a simulated campsite setup. For clients who have a trip planned this year, we will review your routes and all of our gear. We will also cover the gear lists and required/ recommended fishing gear. Everyone who attended past clinics said this greatly enhanced their trip. We strongly urge all clients to attend and anyone else who is interested in a trip is more than welcome. We will have refreshments. Again, there will be no fee, but please email your RSVP so we know how many people to expect. We expect a big turn out this year! The address of the island lake headquarters: 12950 Grand River Road Brighton, MI 48116-8506 - (810) 229-7067. We will have the meeting near the lake if the weather is good, if the weather is unfavorable it will be at one of the pavilions in the park. The ranger at the toll booth will give you directions to the meeting. 2010 Wilderness Journey’s BWCA Clinic had a great turnout. If you had questions about how to prepare, what to bring and what not to bring to your upcoming Boundary Waters trip, you should have the answer now! The weather cleared up just in time for us to get together this past Saturday for the 2010 Wilderness Journey BWCA Clinic at Island Lake. Ramsey’s presentation featured mandatory equipment and gear, other things that he recommends and a pile of stuff that won’t make the cut on a boundary waters trip. While the group had lunch, maps were provided, routes were reviewed and questions were answered. Many groups who booked a trip for this coming season were represented. Some past clients came to talk about their trip and can’t wait to go back! There were a few people who came to see what all the fuss was about and since booked a trip. We thank everyone who made the day a success.
