See the rate chart below for the price per person for the whole trip.  All prices include guide costs.

Licenses/ Lottery Permits...First-Come First-Served

Each person will also need to get a Minnesota 7-day fishing license for $25.00.
(price may vary year to year)  Lottery permit applications will be accepted through January 15. All applications submitted during this period will be processed by lottery (regardless of the order or method received).  On January 20, following the lottery, first-come, first-served reservation processing will begin via interactive website (reservations processed and confirmed immediately), or mail. Please note that if January 20th falls on a Sunday or holiday, mailed reservation applications will be processed the next business day. Phone reservations will be accepted beginning February 1, Mon.–Fri. until April 30; then daily through September 30.

Preparing you for the trip...

As a part of the package and to prepare for the trip, Wilderness Journey will host a meeting with canoes at Island Lake Recreation Center in southeast Michigan to introduce the camp setup and what to bring along for the trip as well as basic paddling skills and to review maps to see the routes you'll be venturing.  This will take part in May- details to follow.

Get to Ely...

If you drive to Ely, we suggest you get a good night's rest at a hotel the night before we start our journey .  The morning of departure, we will meet in Ely at a local outfitter- where we've made special arrangements for you will leave your vehicle in secured parking lot.  From there, we will provide transportation to the entry point.  

If you fly, we can pick up/drop off to and from Duluth airport for $120.00

Wilderness Journey accepts cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

Groups/individuals are required to pay half (50%) of the total amount due as a deposit to book a trip.  The remainder is due two weeks before the trip date.  Groups should assign one leader to collect the payment due from all members and issue one payment to Wilderness Journey.

Trip dates will be booked on a first-come first-serve basis.  Entry points will be established in accordance to the guide permits issued by the Superior National Forestry office.  

Refund Policy: Cancellations should be submitted in writing with a reply to indicate receipt.

• 75% of the payment collected will be refunded if trip is cancelled more than 1 month before the trip date.
• 50% of the payment collected will be refunded if trip is cancelled 2-4 weeks before the trip date.
• There will be NO payment refunded if the trip is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the trip date.  Non-refunded money can be applied toward another trip in the same season or next season with Wilderness Journey LESS CANCELLATION FEE and according to availability
